I have no trouble opening all of the layers that way. ![]() When I save an SVG file in Inkscape, there is a menu option called "Better DXF Output", so I save it that way, (as the developer says to do) and it opens nicely in Silhouette as a dxf. I downloaded something called "better_dxf_output.zip" from I bought some cute SVG files from Lettering Delights, you have to separate them in Inkscape before saving but it seemed to work. ![]() With the help of hubby I finally figured it out :) I am so impressed by how fast they respond to a problem and fix it immediately! They are astonishing! By the next morning, they had emailed me a fix which they say will be out in the next upgrade. There were diagonal lines across the whole work screen and if I clicked on them the program would crash. Some of the conversions we get as freebies from others don't do well in our program and I reported one to the Sil support team. I tried that, I downloaded inkscape and saved the file as dxf but then when I went into the Silouette software couldn't figure out how to save it there as a gsd file? What am I missing? Then you can can open the svg file in it and then save to dxf file and then you can open in the Silhouette software and save as gsd file. Does anyone know how to do this? I searched online and found some instructions but they were from a few years ago and don't seem to work with the current Silhouette software.ĭo a google search for inkskape and download it.
